George Tsakiris created in 1954 the first production unit of potato snacks, at the basement of his house in Athens, with very simple equipment. Potatoes cut & frying as well as their packaging would take place by hand and G. Tsakiris by himself would distribute the prepared potato chips to nearby open-air cinemas and bakeries on foot. Since then, Tsakiris Chips production has gone through many stages till 1997 when Atalanti’s plant was created, with new, modern and automated equipment, operating under strict hygiene and safety conditions till today.
In 2004 the company became a subsidiary of Coca-Cola HBC and, since then, Tsakiris has widely expanded in the snack market, with new, innovative ranges.
