Celebrating decades of growth, innovation and community support in Italy and Romania

Coca-Cola HBC proudly marked two remarkable milestones recently: the 50th anniversary of its Nogara plant in Italy and the 30th anniversary of its Timișoara plant in Romania.

These anniversaries are a testament to the enduring partnership between the company and the communities it operates in.

Nogara: 50 years of being part of the local community

Since opening its doors in 1975, the Nogara production plant has grown to become one of the largest Coca-Cola production sites in Italy and Europe. Today, Nogara is a hub of innovation and sustainable production.

Local impact highlights

  • Economic footprint: The Nogara plant directly and indirectly supports 3,200 jobs and collaborates with over 100 local companies, many of them small and medium enterprises. The plant’s activities generate significant value for the local supply chain and community.
  • Sustainable development: Over the past 15 years, €220 million has been invested in Nogara, with another €50 million planned for the next four years. The plant is a benchmark for sustainable practices, including advanced logistics and energy efficiency.
  • Anniversary event: More than 1,300 people joined the anniversary celebrations, including families, partners, and local authorities. The event raised €16,000 for the Auser Nogara Association, supporting projects that make the community more vibrant and inclusive.

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of this plant means paying homage to a history of expertise, innovation, and a connection to the local area. Italy represents a fundamental pillar of the Group's growth strategies and will continue to be at the heart of our future investments, because here we see talent, energy, and opportunities to build the next half century of success together.

Timișoara: Three Decades of Sustainable Progress

The Timișoara plant has been a benchmark of technological excellence since its inauguration in 1995.

Local impact highlights

  • Economic footprint: In 2024 alone, the Coca-Cola System generated €911 million in added value for Romania’s economy, supporting 20,700 jobs directly and indirectly, and working with 86% local suppliers.
  • Sustainable development: The company has just opened the first photovoltaic park at the Timișoara plant, and it is the first one in the Coca-Cola System network in Romania. It expects the photovoltaic panels to directly produce about 20% of the plant’s annual electricity needs and reduce CO₂ emissions by nearly 1,200 tonnes per year. The company has invested €1 million to build the photovoltaic park and is delighted to have been awarded a grant of €300,000 from the European Union’s Modernisation Fund.
  • Anniversary event: The celebration brought together over 100 guests, including government officials, business partners, and NGOs.

For three decades, Timișoara has shown that the passion and professionalism of its people can support continuous and sustainable growth.

The investment in the photovoltaic park is a clear sign of our commitment to a more sustainable future and to achieving Coca-Cola HBC’s goal of reaching net zero emissions across the entire value chain by 2040.
