Poland's Coca-Cola Cup awarded Champion of the Year 2011
Coca-Cola Hellenic Poland together with Coca-Cola Poland Services were awarded the title Champion of the Year 2011 in the Patron of Youth Sports category for organising the
Coca-Cola Cup football tournament by Przegląd Sportowy, Poland’s oldest and largest sports daily.

The Coca-Cola Cup is one the largest youth football tournaments in Poland which Coca-Cola has been organising since 1999. The Cup focuses on promoting healthy and active lifestyles among youth.


At the end of 2011, more than half a million young competitors participated in the Coca-Cola Cup. For many players, this is the beginning of their professional career. One such success is Robert Lewandowski who will also participate in UEFA EURO 2012TM sponsored by Coca-Cola.


Hungary wins Special Volunteering Award

Hungary wins special volunteering award
Coca-Cola Hellenic Hungary has won a Volunteering Special Award at the CSR MarketPlace 2011 exhibition in Budapest. The award is of special value as 2011 is the European Year of Volunteering.

Coca-Cola Hellenic beat off stiff competition to win the award from 95 entries.

The jury recognised that the corporate volunteering programme was fully integrated into the CSR strategy of Coca-Cola Hellenic Hungary. The jury also acknowledged the programme’s feasibility, sustainability, adaptability and innovation.

Volunteering is a full-scale programme at Coca-Cola Hellenic Hungary, designed to provide a framework for ‘giving’ to the local and wider community. It is open to all employees, who can join the programmes announced centrally, initiate projects themselves and apply for the Employee Fund, or support communities with their skills and experience.

A total of 275 volunteers have participated in corporate volunteer days over the last three years - collecting litter, renewing nursery schools and playgrounds, planting trees and revitalising wetlands.

First CSR award from Forbes magazine in Bulgaria

Coca-Cola Hellenic in Bulgaria won the first prize in the CSR category at the Forbes Magazine Business Awards in Bulgaria taking place for the first time.

A jury of eight members, who voted unanimously, placed Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria on the first place, recognising its overall contribution in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility.

The main criteria for the CSR category were the overall contribution of the business to community, with focus on the socially significant events and initiatives, sponsorships, donations and community contribution.

The official award ceremony was held on 8 December 2011 aimed at stimulating good business practices in Bulgaria. The awards were split in nine categories, with the CSR category being one of the most challenging, having 15 companies competed for the title.

Coca-Cola Hellenic in Poland topped the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) category in the Responsible Business Leader contest organised by the Employers of Poland, the largest and oldest confederation of employers in Poland.

The Responsible Business Leader contest is part of the Coalition for Responsible Business project, a joint initiative of the Employers of Poland and its six business partners. Only companies that are guided in their operations by responsible business standards competed for the title of Responsible Business Leader. Five companies in five categories were awarded the Responsible Business Leader title.

 

The Coca-Cola HBC Italia Foundation and the Abio Foundation win the 2011 Arete prize for best social programme

Italy receives 2011 Arete prize for best social programme

The Vice President of the Italian Confederation of Industries, Alessandro Laterza, presented the 2011 Aretè Prize for the best social programme to the Coca-Cola HBC Italia Foundation and ABIO Foundation. Employees of Coca-Cola HBC Italia assisted volunteers at the ABIO stands to illustrate the objectives of the association and to distribute a container of pears for a contribution. Finally, on 26 September, the ABIO associations located closest to the seven Coca-Cola HBC Italia production facilities sold their boxes of pears to their employees.

The initiative raised a total of 230,000 euros for the 190 paediatric departments in which ABIO operates, involving 116 squares, 250 employees and 5,000 volunteers, while over 2,000 competitors of all ages ran to collect funds. "We are particularly pleased to have been awarded this prize which rewards Coca-Cola’s commitment to support organisations and associations dedicated to the assistance of initiatives directed to the community” declared Alessandro Magnoni, Vice President of the Coca-Cola HBC Italia Foundation. “The 2011 Aretè Prize really celebrates the spirit of our concept of corporate responsibility. In addition to constituting a moment of enormous visibility for the ABIO movement, the National Day is an occasion that reinforces the cohesion of the volunteers” stated Eugenio Bernardi, Vice President of the ABIO Italia Foundation.

 

Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria named ‘Greenest Company’ in the country

Greenest Company for Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria

Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria has received the top award in the ‘big business’ category of a contest held to recognise companies which make a significant contribution to sustainable development and environmental protection.

The Company competed with 75 other businesses in the contest which was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment and Waters.

At the awards ceremony, held at the Lozenets Government residency, the Company was commended for its overall Corporate Social Responsibility policies and activities. The prize and a special ‘thank you’ letter were presented to Nikos Kalaitzidakis, General Manager of Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria by Ms Nona Karadjova, Minister of Environment and Waters.

The event was attended by more than 100 official guests representing major corporations in Bulgaria, various government departments, and leading NGOs.

Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria is preparing to demonstrate its pride in being named the ‘greenest company’ by adding a reference to the award in its TV advertising, as well as on in-store promotional displays.
